Pregnancy & birth preparation
with TCM & acupuncture

In recent years, acupuncture has also established itself as an effective form of therapy in the western world, especially in thePregnancy.

One of the most common uses of acupuncture during pregnancy is to treat nausea and vomiting. Often referred to as "morning sickness," most women suffer from this condition during the early months of pregnancy.

Acupuncture can also help relieve back pain in pregnancy. Many women suffer from back pain, especially in the third trimester when the extra weight of the baby takes a toll on the body. Acupuncture can relieve pain by improving blood flow and relaxing muscles.

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Breech position

  • Induction of labor

  • Postnatal energy treatments

  • Postpartum Depression

  • Insufficient milk production

  • Mastitis

Birth preparation, birth induction

Acupuncture is mainly used to prepare for birth. Studies show that this treatment can shorten the time of birth, mainly the opening phase, by 4 hours, as acupuncture activates the maturation process of the cervix. This treatment should be used from the 36th week of pregnancy (SSW) to the 40th week of pregnancy. The acupuncture treatment is then adapted for the induction of labor and can transform the latent willingness to labor into a regular labor-effective labor activity.

Breech position

Treatment of breeches should begin in week 33/34. Moxibustion (More on Moxibustion ) is used as the main treatment. With a "moxa cigar", heat is applied to an acupuncture point on the little toes. In addition, the body is strengthened by needling additional acupuncture points and prepared for the birth. Moxibustion should be used twice a day for a week. For this purpose, the patient is instructed in the self-application. After a week, the doctor or midwife will check the status.

Postnatal treatments

During the birthing process, the woman loses qi and blood. So there is always a weakness after birth. Symptoms such as persistent fatigue, depression, breast dysfunction such as insufficient milk production, milk congestion or mastitis can occur.

It is advisable to use acupuncture and Chinese medicines to restore important substances to the body in order to compensate for the imbalance in the body.
